Statistics
In this course on Statistics, we cover measures of central tendency for grouped and ungrouped data. We also calculate measures of dispersion, such as quartiles and the five-number summary, to plot box-and-whisker diagrams. Our focus is on using these statistical measures to analyse data and draw conclusions.
This course takes the basics one step further to provide some extended examples and questions for those learners who enjoy a challenge.
-
Lesson 1 60 minutes with Marelize on Tuesday, 9 Aug 2022, 18:00
Mean, Median, Mode
We revise the mean, median and mode for ungrouped data and calculate the mean for grouped data.
-
Lesson 2 60 minutes with Marelize on Thursday, 11 Aug 2022, 18:00
Frequency Tables and Grouped Data
We calculate the estimated mean for grouped data and learn how to work with frequency tables for grouped data.

Lesson 3 60 minutes with Marelize on Tuesday, 16 Aug 2022, 18:00
Quartiles, the Five-Number Summary and Box-and-Whisker Plots
We calculate quartiles (including the interquartile range) and use the five-number summary to draw a box-and-whisker plot.

Analysing and Commenting on Data
We use statistical summaries to comment on data and draw conclusions.
